Leanne Wagner holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Simon Fraser University and has completed her requirements for her Masters of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology with the Adlerian School of Professional Psychology. Leanne is also a member of the Canadian Counsellors Association (CCA). Leanne has had a diverse background including resource coordination, coaching group education sessions, as well as supporting individuals and families in crisis. In keeping with her scholastic training Leanne follows an Adlerian perspective with her practice. She engages in this model because it is optimistic and views the person as a whole while providing practical tools to assist the individual in overcoming the challenges they face. Another benefit of this theory is that it applies well to individuals of all ages, couples, and groups. Leanne also recognizes the strengths of other theories and implements various techniques depending on the client, the challenges they are facing, and their individual needs. Leanne works with a variety of clients including adolescents and adults in individual as well as a couple’s formats. Her areas of interest include marriage and couples counselling, eating disorders, anxiety, communication skills, relationship difficulties, parenting, depression, self esteem issues, trauma, and post traumatic stress, and pain. Leanne resides in Ontario with her husband after spending nine years in British Columbia she enjoys living in Cambridge and considers it an excellent nurturing community for her three children. |
